Zimbabwe Wildlife and Environment
Zimbawe is home to Victoria Falls and several renowed national parks and reserves. The northern area borders the Zambezi river where the famous mana pools national park is located. In addition there is the vast Hwange National Park – know for it’s elephants, along with Matusadona and several others.
Hwange National Park
Hwange is Zambia’s Largest and best know National Park. Just 30 miles south from Victoria Falls, here you’ll find all of Africa’s large mammals.
Mana Pools National Park
Spread along the banks of the Zambezi River, down stream from Lake Karibu, this isolated National Park is famous for it’s canoeing safaris on the river and in the many large “pools” in the area. The water also attracts large herds of elephants.
Matusadona National Park
Set along the shore of Lake Karibu, this little visited park is home to the rare Black Rhino, numerous lion, hippo and prolific bird life.
