Day 1 – Mose Oa Tunya – Victoria Falls
You will be met off your flight into Livingstone, Zambia and transferred to a small luxury safari lodge, situated on the northern edge of the Mosi Oa Tunya National Park. This small parks name comes from the people who have lived here for generations and means “Smoke Which Thunders”, as it is situated next to the mighty Victoria Falls. This is one of the few places you can see the rare white Rhino. You may also see Giraffe, Buffalo, Zebra, Sable, Eland, Wildebeest and migrating Elephants, often wallowing in shallow pools near the banks of the Zambezi River.

Your stay here will be at Sussi Lodge, a five star lodge set on a sweeping bend of the Zambezi River, just 10 minutes upstream from the Falls themselves. Guest accommodation consists of 10 luxury tree-houses, built into the living canopy of giant ebony trees lining the bank. Each unit has a private view of the Zambezi from its own deck set among the branches. The main lodge building features a spectacular raised bar and lounge deck, open air dining area, swimming pool and lawns sweeping down to the water’s edge where resident wildlife, such as hippopotamus and elephant often wander through on their way in and out of the park.

After lunch, you may depart on an afternoon game drive in the park, go for a swim, even try your hand at fishing, or relax on your deck watching the river with a cool drink. Dinner is served in the dining area or under the stars next to the bonfire.
Overnight – Sanctuary Sussi Lodge (lunch & dinner, game drive)

Day 2 – Mose Oa Tunya – Victoria Falls
This morning after breakfast you will depart on an early morning game drive into the Park, returning for lunch. After lunch it’s time to go visit the falls with your guide accompanying you. Return to the lodge in the late afternoon and relax before having dinner under the stars.
Overnight – Santuary Sussi Lodge (all meals & activities)

Day 3 – Lechwe Plains / Lochinvar National Park
This morning you will be driven to Livingstone Airport and depart on a private charter flight to the magnificent World Heritage Wetlands Site of Lochinvar National Park. This scenic flight takes about 1 hour and the park encompasses a vast wetlands area noted for thousands of the endemic Kafue Lechwe. Buffalo, Zebra, Wildebeest, and Oribi graze the marshy shores and on the surrounding grassy plains. This is also birdwatcher’s paradise with 428 recorded species ranging from the flamboyant flamingo and pelican through a boggling array of waterfowl and waders to over 50 species of raptors. The sight of these huge flocks dipping and swooping in a continual wave over the water is amazing.

Your stay here will be at the exotic and beautiful Lechwe Plains Tented Camp – an African fantasy under canvas. The tented lodge, built onto teak decking, is sheltered by an old grove of acacia trees on the edge of the wide Chunga Lagoon. Just six double units cater for a maximum of 12 guests at any one time, making this a tranquil hideaway far from the main safari circuits. The close-up experience of living in the same environment as the wildlife offers a new perspective to the visitor. The ever-changing waterscapes offer opportunities for special interest groups and individual visitors alike. Guests will have the undivided attention of the hosts and staff, including a competent ornithologist and camp guide who has intimate knowledge of the area.

Today after lunch you will set out on an afternoon game drive, returning for sundowners around the fire.

Day 5 – South Luangwa National Park
This morning after breakfast depart by private charter for your flight to Mfuwe. When you land in Mfuwe you will be met by a staff member of the Chichele Presidential Safari Lodge and driven through the park to your home base for the next two days. The drive takes approximately 1 hour through what experts have called one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world, not surprisingly since the concentrations of game around the Luangwa River and its ox-bow lagoons are dramatic. In addition the topography of the area makes it ideal for walking safaris, allowing guests to explore the river and its tributaries in the care of an experienced guide. The Park is also noted for its big game species particularly Leopard, Lion and Elephant and a whole host of antelope species.

Your stay here will be at the Chichele Presidential Safari Lodge, formerly a private Presidential retreat, Chichele (pronounce to rhyme with belly) occupies one of the most breathtaking sites in the entire park. In order to exploit the wonderful floodplain vistas offered by the site, 10 elegant Victorian style lodges are built along the edge of the hillside, each giving guests a private panoramic view. Quality furnishings and 5 star service make this truly one of the top safari lodges on the continent.

Today after lunch you will set out on a short guided walk in the park returning in the afternoon with time to relax, or take a swim, before departing on a night game drive to spot some of the nocturnal animals, like the leopard and spotted hyena.
Overnight – Chichele Presidential Safari Lodge (all meals & activities)
