Day by Day Itinerary


Day 1 | Maun / Okavango Delta – Kanana Concession


On arrival in Maun and after clearing customs there you will met and assisted on your light aircraft flight deep into the southwest region of the vast Okavango Delta to the private Kanana Concession.

Your stay here will be at Kanana Camp, located on the banks of the Xudum River. Guests are accommodated in eight spacious, twin-bedded safari tents, each with en-suite bathrooms with shower, hot and cold running water and flush toilets. The tents are well spaced, but still within comfortable distance from the main lodge area.

Activities here include morning and late afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, with afternoon game drives often continuing into the evening. Alternatively you may explore the crystal clear waterways by Mekoro or motorboat, and enjoy the magnificent variety of birds, plant and reptile species found in the area. Guided bush walks are highly recommended and you can even try your hand at fishing.

After lunch and some time to settle in, set out on a game drive, stopping for sundowners then returning to the camp under spotlight, searching for the nocturnal animals.

Days 2 and 3 | Okavango Delta – Kanana Concession


You have two days to explore this amazing area. Usually after an early morning coffee, you will set on a wildlife activity. Return to the camp for a delicious brunch, then relax for a few hours and enjoy the camp. In the early afternoon after lunch you will set out again on another activity, stopping for a sundowner, then returning to camp under spot light.

Day 4| Okavango Delta – Moremi Game Reserve


After a final morning activity and brunch you will be driven to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight to the Xaxanaka Region of Moremi Wildlife Reserve, which covers an area of about 1,900 sq. miles in the eastern segment of the Okavango Delta. Moremi combines mopane woodland and acacia forests, floodplains and lagoons and has a vast variety of plant, bird and animal life, creating one of the most magnificent and welcoming wildlife sanctuaries in all of Africa.

Your stay here will be at Camp Moremi, set beneath giant ebony trees with the magnificent Moremi tree lodge as its centrepiece, consisting of a main lounge, wildlife reference library, dining room and cocktail bar. The 19 guest tents are the Hemingway style and are set on raised teak platforms with thatched roofs and private viewing decks. There is also a swimming pool with a sun deck and a thatched boma, where brunch & high tea is served. You can also sit in the elevated viewing “hide” above the Xakanaxa Lagoon.

Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4×4 vehicles where your likely to sight lion, leopard & cheetah, and wild dogs if your lucky. Plus hyena, hippo and the full range of antelope, large and small, including the red lechwe. You can also explore the Xakanaxa Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by motorboat for great bird-watching opportunities, crocs and elephant.

Today after lunch set out on an afternoon game drive,. Return to the camp before dark for sundowners before dinner.

Day 5 | Okavango Delta – Moremi Game Reserve


You have a full day of game drives in open vehicles and boating safaris as you explore the delta and the Moremi Game Reserve.

Days 6, 7 and 8 | Linyanti Reserve – Savute Channel


After an early morning activity and brunch, you will be driven to the airstrip for your light aircraft flight east to the private Linyanti Reserve bordering the northeast part of Chobe National Park. Your stay here will be at the Linyanti Bush Camp, set on the edge of Linyanti Marsh. The marshes are the only water source for miles around and attract water-adapted and desert-adapted wildlife, plus large numbers of birdlife. You will also have access to the Savuti area known for its large population of elephants. The lion pride here sometimes number into the 30’s as the have adapted to prey on the elephants.

This area offers a diverse range of water and land activities throughout the year. Motorboats and Mekoro provide a chance to experience the incredible numbers of bird, plant and reptile species found in the Linyanti Marsh. Game drives are conducted in specially-designed open safari vehicles. In addition, night game drives are offered on the private concession. Guided walks are also available with an armed professional guide.

Linyanti Bush Camp is an intimate luxury 12-bedded tented camp, featuring large East African Meru-style tents. All tents have full en-suite facilities with running hot showers and flush toilet, plus a comfortable sofa with a writing desk, chest of drawers and a cupboard. Each tent is positioned to offer spectacular views of Linyanti Marsh.

After lunch and some time to relax, depart on a game drive, in search of the many cats that are present in this area. In addition to Lions you may spot leopard, leopard, wild dogs, red lechwe, hippo, crocodile and the rare and elusive sitatunga antelope which can be found in the surrounding marshes. You also have large populations of elephant and buffalo that congregate in vast numbers, especially during the dry season.

Day 9 | Linyanti Reserve / Victoria Falls


This morning you will flown to the small town of Kasane. When you arrive you will be met and assisted on your road transfer to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, arriving about an hour later.

After clearing customs you will continue to the falls and the Ilala Lodge. This small boutique hotel has just 34 guest rooms and is the closet lodge to the falls – just a short 10 minute stroll. After lunch, visit the falls and explore the town.
